The Quiet House at Black Mountain College was constructed in fall 1942 as a memorial to Mark Dreier, the son of Theodore Dreier (a cofounder of the college) and his wife, Barbara. Designed as a tranquil and reflective space, the Quiet House proved inspirational to many of the school’s students and teachers. This reference sheet includes an interior and an exterior view.
