Edward A. Foster’s 1970 catalogue for the exhibition Robert Rauschenberg: Prints 1948/1970 at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts provides comprehensive details for 155 prints made by Rauschenberg between 1948 and 1970. According to Foster, Rauschenberg created Front Roll at Universal Limited Art Editions (ULAE) while concurrently working on Kip-Up, Spot, and Breakthrough I during May and June 1964.
