Jananne Al-Ani

Artist Jananne Al-Ani discusses how war reportage has contributed to Western representations of the Middle East as a largely uninhabited desert region. Her work Shadow Sites II (2011) presents aerial views of a range of ancient and modern sites in southern Jordan, demonstrating millennia of human occupation.
