This clipping from the Minneapolis Star shows Automobile Tire Print installed as part of Robert Rauschenberg: Prints 1948/1970 (August 6–September 27, 1970), an exhibition organized by the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. Here the work is lying flat on a platform just above the floor. At this low height, the fully unrolled work invited visitors to walk its length and retrace the movement of the tire as it left its mark upon the paper.
