2015 SFMOMA Contemporary Vision Award Honoring Annie Leibovitz

Tuesday, Nov 3, 2015

7 p.m.

Regency Ballroom

Join us for the inaugural presentation of the new Contemporary Vision Award as we celebrate the groundbreaking accomplishments of photographer Annie Leibovitz. This honor salutes creative minds across the globe who redefine contemporary visual culture and make the art of our time a vital and meaningful part of public life. Presented by the Modern Art Council — SFMOMA’s premier fundraising auxiliary — this event supports the museum’s education and exhibition programs.

Leibovitz began her career as a photojournalist for Rolling Stone in 1970 while she was a student at the San Francisco Art Institute, becoming the magazine’s chief photographer in 1973. Over her career, including work at Vanity Fair and Vogue, she has developed a large and distinguished body of work that encompasses many of the most well-known portraits of our time.

Guests will enjoy:

  • A pre-event cocktail reception
  • An exclusive conversation with Annie Leibovitz and Nion McEvoy, SFMOMA Trustee and CEO of Chronicle Books
  • An exquisite seated dinner at the Regency Ballroom
  • An invitation to the Contemporary Vision Award Launch Party
  • Complimentary valet parking

In addition, guests at the Vision Award Society and Grand Benefactor levels are invited to join an intimate VIP reception with Annie Leibovitz prior to the award program and will receive recognition in the event invitations and programs.
