Join us for the inaugural presentation of the new Contemporary Vision Award as we celebrate the groundbreaking accomplishments of photographer Annie Leibovitz. This honor salutes creative minds across the globe who redefine contemporary visual culture and make the art of our time a vital and meaningful part of public life. Presented by the Modern Art Council — SFMOMA’s premier fundraising auxiliary — this event supports the museum’s education and exhibition programs.
Leibovitz began her career as a photojournalist for Rolling Stone in 1970 while she was a student at the San Francisco Art Institute, becoming the magazine’s chief photographer in 1973.
