Discovering Connections 2019

Monday–Friday, July 22–26

9 a.m.–5 p.m.

Applications are due April 28.

This five-day program invites high school teachers to explore works from the diverse collections of four major San Francisco museums through observation, inquiry, analysis, and reflection. Participants will develop techniques for engaging with artworks and discover how the museum setting fosters critical thinking and creativity. The program includes up-close gallery experiences, illuminating discussions with peers and museum staff, and useful resources to take back to the classroom. Three Continuing Education Units are available from San Francisco State University at an additional cost.

Presented by the Asian Art Museum, Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, and SFMOMA.

The Discovering Connections teacher institute costs $250 and space is limited. Scholarships are available.

If you have questions about the workshop, please contact us at teachers@sfmoma.org.
