Rituals for a Nervous Body

Friday, Apr 21, 2017

5 p.m.

Performance All Ages invites you to dive into the theatrical process with these drop-in activations created by artist collective Cloud Eye Control. Get a glimpse of scenes from their acclaimed feature length performance, Half Life, stop by the “psychic armor-building” workshop, happen upon a colorful Psychic Blob in the galleries, and more!

Psychic Blobs

Floors 1–6

Wander through the galleries to happen upon these colorful creatures.

LiDAR Data Bodies

Evelyn and Walter Haas, Jr. Atrium, Floor 1

LiDAR sensors measure the distance to a target by illuminating it with a laser light. They are used in products like self-driving cars to generate 3-D maps of their surroundings in real time. Stroll through the Haas, Jr. Atrium and explore how these sensors “see” the presence of your body. Presented in partnership with Velodyne.

Workshop: Rituals for New Shapes

Helen and Charles Schwab Hall, Floor 2

Design, craft, and wear your own unique “psychic armor.”

Performance: Scenes from Half Life

Gina and Stuart Peterson White Box, Floor 4

Get a unique glimpse into the theatrical process as Half Life loops through rehearsal, performance, and re-performance.
