Drawn Together: World Building Through Radical Imagination

Related Exhibition Ruth Asawa: Retrospective

Various Dates in June, July, and August

im.ag.in.ation: The faculty or action of forming new ideas, images, or concepts of external objects not present to the senses.

ra.di.cal im.ag.in.ation: A collective process where individuals or groups construct the world as it could be through the sharing of experience and a rooted recognition that the world can and should be changed.

Imagine a future beyond the limitations of today. In collaboration with UC Berkeley’s Othering and Belonging Institute, this series of programs brings together a diverse group of artists and scholars to harness the power of radical imagination as a tool for envisioning and creating a better future. Together, we’ll explore what a more just world could look like — and how we can bring it to life. Each program focuses on a central concept, inviting participants to share stories, insights, and visions that transcend the boundaries of our current reality. These conversations will offer thought-provoking prompts to inspire reflection on the world you want to see and how you can help build it through partnership and community. All programs are moderated by Jose Richard Aviles, the arts and culture strategy lead at the Othering and Belonging Institute, and feature the Belonging Resident Company, led by Sarah Crowell.

Each program will be preceded by a related workshop held in the Koret Education Center from 6–6:45 p.m.
