Shorts by Apichatpong Weerasethakul

Apichatpong Weerasethakul, a highly original moving-image artist, works in media installation as well as short- and long-form filmmaking. He is one of the few filmmakers who successfully bridges the gap between narrative forms and the avant-garde. A graduate of filmmaking at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, he is one of a small group of independent Thai filmmakers working outside the country’s studio system. He crosses forms of documentary and fiction, weaving characters real and imagined in and out of his stories. This program comprises rarely seen short works made over the past 14 years.

This screening includes a special introduction by filmmaker Apichatpong Weerasthakul.
