This exhibition examines Japanese photography new to SFMOMA’s collection through the themes of “inside” and “outside”: the countryside, the city and interior space, environmental catastrophe, America and Japan, and performance, among others. Participants will tour the exhibition, explore resources for integrating themes and works from the exhibition into their classrooms, and engage in a participatory activity that can be used in the classroom or museum. This half-day professional development workshop is designed for high school teachers, but all K12 educators are welcome to apply.
