Teaching with Diego Rivera’s Pan American Unity Mural: Experiences from City College of San Francisco

Saturday, Nov 20, 2021

10–11:30 a.m. PDT

Online

Free with RSVP

Connect with college and university faculty from across the Bay Area and gather new ideas and approaches for teaching Diego Rivera’s Pan American Unity. Drawing from years of experience teaching from the mural, as well as new resources that emerged during its move and display at SFMOMA, five multidisciplinary City College of San Francisco (CCSF) faculty will present their lesson plans at an online showcase open to all. These faculty members have been working closely with SFMOMA staff as part of an educational partnership initiated by the historic loan of the mural from CCSF to the museum. Lesson plans will be made available to any educator seeking resources around Pan American Unity, which has served as a powerful teaching tool for CCSF classes for decades and is now on view for free at SFMOMA until 2023.

This event is hosted by SFMOMA in partnership with City College of San Francisco.
Live captioning will be provided for this program.
