Pardon our dust, we’re working on a new installation that affects the Atrium, 3rd, 4th and 5th Floor.

Calling all grown-up artists: Have you ever felt stuck, bored, or just plain uncreative? Have you ever felt like maybe you’d like to make art, but you’re not sure where to start? This program is for you! Come seek advice from the most creative of all humans — kids.
Kids, you know what to do. Come prepared to help these questioning grown-ups find their creative spark.
We’ll kick off our program with Danielle Krysa, also known as the Jealous Curator, reading her book How to Spot an Artist to get our ideas and our questions flowing. Then, Danielle will moderate the Q + A session. Paper and drawing materials will be provided for brainstorming and note-taking.
Later on at 1 p.m. Danielle will hold a reading and conversation about her new book Real Artists Wear Black, recommended for audiences ages 16 and up.
Danielle Krysa is the writer behind the contemporary art site The Jealous Curator (est. 2009), and has curated art shows all over North America. Krysa is also an artist herself, and her mixed media work is held in private collections worldwide. She is the author of several art books, including Creative Block, Your Inner Critic Is A Big Jerk, A Big Important Art Book – Now with Women, and two children’s books: How To Spot An Artist and Art and Joy. Her newest book, Real Artists Wear Black: And Other Lies About Being Creative was just released in October of 2026. Krysa has had the great pleasure of speaking at TEDx, PIXAR, and Creative Mornings, and was interviewed in a series of video segments on Oprah.com about breaking through creative blocks and self-doubt.
