Exhibition curator Zarobell discusses Kerry James Marshall’s Art in the Atrium project, which brought two monumental murals of the estates of presidents Washington and Jefferson to SFMOMA’s Haas Atrium in February 2009. He reconsiders the making of the murals, including the planning process, the collaboration with the Precita Eyes Mural Arts Center, and the response mural created by Oakland youths and installed at De Fremery Park in Oakland. Deinstallation of the murals begins on October 12, 2011.
