VTS and the Common Core

In this teacher event co-organized with the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, Philip Yenawine, former director of education at New York’s Museum of Modern Art and coauthor of the Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS) curriculum, will highlight connections between VTS and the Common Core standards for English language arts. Yenawine will demonstrate a VTS discussion and outline how VTS can be applied to produce growth in students’ critical thinking in alignment with the Common Core. After the program, he will sign copies of his latest book, Visual Thinking Strategies: Using Art to Deepen Learning Across School Disciplines.
