Red Typhoon: A Modern Mixer SFMOMA To Host An Evening For Arts Supporters On June 30, 2001

Released: May 07, 2001 ·

What
Contemporary Extension (CX), the young professional auxiliary of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA), hosts a cocktail party for other young member arts auxiliaries and all those interested in the arts. Red Typhoon: A Modern Mixer captures the Asian fusion spirit. Inspired by the exceptional Asian restaurants in San Francisco, party organizers will transform the Museum’s Schwab Room into a colorful bazaar showcasing the myriad flavors, smells and sensations of Asia.

Who
CX members, a dynamic group between the ages of 21 and 40, share an interest in modern art and a desire to expand their knowledge of the art world. CX plays an increasingly high profile role in supporting the Museum by attracting younger members with a serious interest in art to such recent events as the Rhizome Digital Happy Hour and the San Francisco premiere of the film Pollock. Other San Francisco auxiliaries expected to participate in the evening are: Fine Arts Museums’ Art Point, San Francisco Ballet’s Encore and San Francisco Symphony’s Symphonix. All supporters of the arts are welcome to attend.

Ponzu, Sushi Groove, Azie and Ana Mandara will prepare an assortment of delectable appetizers.

DJ Saimon Li adds a strong performance component to his spinning.

Co-Chairs: Gina Fairley and Devin Saylor

When
