Each print in the Stoned Moon portfolio is embossed with a copyright symbol and Gemini G.E.L.’s chop mark (the astrological sign for Gemini). When the image at left is enlarged, the mark appears to the right of Rauschenberg’s signature and inscription, which notes the number of this impression within the portfolio (10 out of 50) and the print date (1970). The detail of the back of the sheet at right shows the Gemini ink stamp (next to the embossed marks now seen in reverse). “RR70.306,” handwritten in graphite at the bottom of the sheet, designates the individual print number assigned by Gemini.
