In this view of Rauschenberg’s Lafayette Street studio, White Painting [three panel] is installed next to White Painting [seven panel] (both 1951). The space in which the works are pictured served as a chapel for the orphange that occupied the building until Rauschenberg purchased it in 1965. A map of Rauschenberg’s New York studios is available on the Related Information page.
