Markus Schinwald’s strange prostheses and erotic table legs

Markus Schinwald's site-responsive "room prosthesis" installations use architectural interventions such as soft walls, brass rods, wooden table-leg sculptures, and altered nineteenth-century paintings to transform spaces in surprising ways. This work was created at the CCA Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts as part of an exhibition jointly organized by SFMOMA and the Wattis Institute.
