Yto Barrada on laziness as resistance

Artist Yto Barrada discusses how living on the border in Tangier, Morocco, separated from Europe by the Strait of Gibraltar, has created a generation of dispossessed men whose inability to fit in constitutes a form of resistance. Her series A Life Full of Holes: The Strait Project (1998–2004) is a photographic study of the simultaneous conditions of nearness and estrangement in this place.
