Phyllis Wattis Theater

Christlieb and Kijak's engaging documentary dives deep into the culture of cinephilia by examining the lives of five extreme movie fans in New York. "Film is a form of living," one subject declares; casting aside work and social interaction, these filmgoers believe a day not spent in a theater is a day wasted. Populated by opinionated neurotics and compulsives, this candid foray into obsession is a cinephile's ode to joy.

Introduced by Stella Lochman, education and public programs assistant, SFMOMA
