SFMOMA is partnering with fellow cultural institutions in the Yerba Buena neighborhood to host a Joint Member Day in January. SFMOMA members can enjoy reciprocal admission and gallery tours at several neighborhood venues; simply present your SFMOMA membership card for free admission for yourself and a guest. See below for a list of participants and information about special benefits and exhibitions offered throughout the day.

Cartoon Art Museum

www.cartoonart.org
The museum’s current presentation includes The Art and Flair of Mary Blair, a retrospective highlighting the work of famed animation designer Mary Blair (1911-1978), who defined the look of such key Disney films of the 1940s and 1950s as Cinderella and Peter Pan. Also on view is Edward Gorey’s Dracula, an exhibition of the master artist and illustrator’s original set and costume designs, rare production photographs, and memorabilia from the Tony Award-winning Broadway production of the same name.

Contemporary Jewish Museum

The museum’s new building doesn’t open until June 8, 2008, but SFMOMA members are encouraged to take a free cell-phone tour of the construction site to learn more about the new facility and its inaugural exhibitions and programs. Look for the sign posted on Yerba Buena Lane (between Market and Mission, and Third and Fourth streets), or call 415.294.3605 or 408.794.0878. (Please note that long-distance charges may apply.)
