Shop Talk has been considering the survival strategies artists develop and adopt to gain recognition and financial viability, utilizing artist Stephanie Syjuco’s collaborative project Shadowshop, currently on view as part of The More Things Change, as a jumping-off point. This final evening of our three-part conversation program will be a brainstorming session, in which attendees are encouraged to consider possible models for autonomy in these tough economic times.

Please join us! You can also follow the discussion at our blog, Open Space.

SFMOMA’S blog, Open Space, is a lively forum for critical and personal writings about art, visual culture, and issues specific to the Bay Area. In the same spirit, we collaborate with local artists, writers, and others to organize real-time discussions on occasional Thursdays each season.
