Carol Bove and John Chamberlain

Converse
July 27, 2019–July 26, 2020
Floor 5

Dynamic sculptures by contemporary artist Carol Bove and energetic works by John Chamberlain offer visitors opportunities to discover points of convergence and divergence across their approaches. Raised in Berkeley, Bove combines rough found metal with dexterously manipulated and highly finished painted steel. Although her work is often linked to Chamberlain’s assemblages of crushed car and machine parts, the two artists differ radically in their thinking about color, form, and the way that sculpture structures the space around it.
