Nine artists exhibit work characterized by fragility, beauty, pictorial vividness, intimacy, and attention to materials in this installment of the museum’s New Work series, which presents recent or commissioned work by both younger and established artists. Present Tense: Nine Artists in the Nineties includes Janet Cardiff, Iran do Espírito Santo, Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Jim Hodges, Charles LeDray, Gabriel Orozco, Jennifer Pastor, Kathryn Spence, and Steve Wolfe.
