All things must come to an end: the deinstallation of Sol LeWitt’s SFMOMA murals

Watch as Sol LeWitt's monumental wall drawings disappear from the museum's atrium in this time-lapse video. The paintings — Wall Drawing #935: Color bands in four directions and Wall Drawing #936: Color arcs in four directions (both 1999) — were commissioned especially for the museum and can be reinstalled in the future according to the artist's design and specifications, which remain part of SFMOMA's collection.
