Gathering Materials
Related Exhibition Dawoud Bey
Thursday, Apr 2 – Thursday, May 21, 2020
Phyllis Wattis Theater, Floor 1
The limited film series Gathering Materials presents three distinct programs that focus on experimental moving image works and artist-made film and videos that use time and place as a guide to discover untold stories, forge connections across generations and geography, and map paths to ancestors and possible futures, if not utopias. The program is influenced and inspired by two exhibitions on view: the intimate portraiture and street photography of Dawoud Bey and the historical investigations of Cauleen Smith.
