For our first Community in Residence series, we’ve asked six creative collectives to take over our homepage with art and resources, in response to the prompt: What does it mean to work collaboratively in the time of social distancing? This week’s resident is nure collective.
Tune in to a special broadcast from nure on our YouTube channel, this Thursday at 6 p.m. PDT.

In March 2019 Black Mail Collective went on a retreat to Point Arena, California to reconnect with each other, take in the landscape, and refocus our mission as a collective. We emerged from this experience renewed, thankful, and with a new name: nure.
Today, as the world practices social distancing, we cannot help but reflect on where we were just a year ago. Our lives look different now, and yet, creativity, expression, community, and connection drive us forward. We created this piece—a compilation of footage from last year’s retreat as well as glimpses of life at our studios while we shelter in place—to celebrate how far we have come as a group and to honor how all of us (including you) have been able to create together, while apart.
